I have been building websites, software programs, interactive electronic toys and pro-audio products for more than 12 years. Intuitively, I've always looked for ways to create a positive experience for users and clients. I like coding as well as organizing strategies and collaborating with people. Human-centered design is the heart of what I do. What is human-centered design, you ask?

It's all about the human connection

Above all else, a product or a service is created with the understanding that it will be used by people. Thus, I work with clients to create solutions that respond to the user's needs. I seek to understand the perceptions, desires and preferences of the user and build rapport and trust with clients and users in the design and development process.

Human-centered = participation

I value the participation and point of view of users and stakeholders so I create a rich feedback loop that helps enhance the system and the product that ultimately results in a positive user experience. Building trust and creating an inclusive environment that fosters participation, empowerment, respect and creativity is important to me.

It is design, it is a philosophy

These are my guidelines when working on a project:

  • Achieve a balance of aesthetics, functionality and usability.
  • Clarity of goals guides design direction.
  • Simplify! Less is more (economy of elements, economy of motion).
  • Make it unique, targeted, and engaging.
  • Be organized and mind the flow.
  • Incorporate art as art makes us human.

There's a methodology, too

I start with a curiosity and empathy to understand problems and clients. Then move forward on the journey from discovery to expertise in order to solve problems and find solutions. I take the time to know and understand who the users are for the products I help create.

Agile, waterfall, lean UX, some modified or hybrid methodology? — I am experienced with each so we can work with whatever is most efficient for your business.
